Officer nominations begin August 1 and end August 31. Nominations for officers must be received by the President either in writing or e-mail, including the nominees name, e-mail address, club affiliation and phone number. Members cannot submit their own name for nomination. This year the following officer positions are up for election; Vice-President, Secretary, Youth Director, and Sponsor Director.
Qualifier Format submissions due any time before August 22. At the February 2022 business meeting the Reps passed a bylaw amendment. This is the final version that was approved;. "All Qualifier format proposals, including the current format, must be submitted to the KBN President at least 90 days prior to the fall meeting. The Bylaws Committee will review all formats for typographical, rules, or bylaws errors. If errors are found, the proposal is sent back to the original author for revision and re-submission. Final version requires submission to the President at least 45 days in advance of the fall meeting. The President must send the final versions, and the current format, to the clubs at least 45 days prior to the fall meeting. Once the final versions and current format have been submitted, to the clubs, they stand as written with no amending at the Business meeting."
While Qualifier format submissions can be made by any member it is suggested that clubs meet and discuss format possibilities. Discussion between members and/or clubs might decrease potentially redundant versions. As the Fall business meeting is yet to be scheduled, the deadline for Qualifier format submissions will be August 22. So just a little over two months to discuss, compose, and submit format proposals.
Qualifier Format ISSUES: There is not a state team anymore, we currently are provided X number of boaters and X number of non-boaters dependent upon membership number at the end of the year. For next year we will have 5/5; those 5 boaters and 5 non-boaters will advance directly to the BASS Nation Championship. PLUS, each state is given 10 guaranteed boater and 10 guaranteed non-boater unpaid entries to the BNC Regional qualifiers to give out how we deem fit. Format proposals should state how the 5/5 are determined, and how the 10/10 are determined.
Potential Dates in the Bylaws are:
4th weekend of April.
4th weekend of June.
3rd weekend of September.
(3rd weekend of October) BASS has also stated that the BNC will be held in October, so we need to stay away from that month.
State Championship Tournament Formats MUST contain:
(1) Approximate date (spring, fall, a particular month, etc.).
(2) Approximate location (in state, out-of-state, east, west, etc.).
(3) Number of tournaments.
(4) Entry fees and side pots.
(5) Any other item as deemed necessary by the Tournament Director.
KBN State Championship - Wilson Lake September 15, 16, 17
This will be the last chance to qualify the 5 Boaters and 5 Non-boaters who will go directly to the BNC. We also have 5/5 non-paid certificates for Boaters and Non-boaters who finish 6-10, to a BNC Qualifier. One tournament for everything... kinda like what was voted on. Entry and PayPal will be available under the 2023 Tournament page Monday July 10th at 10AM. We have 5 boats that rolled from the first qualifying attempt already in the field.
